About
Skinventive develops natural skincare, hair care, and cosmetic products for medical spas, estheticians, plastic surgeons, and dermatology practices.
We offer anti-aging skin creams, intensive eye serums, scrubs, cleansers, moisturizers, lash & brow products, and a full range of hair care products developed by our team of leading scientists.
Our formulas are developed and manufactured by us using only quality products and natural ingredients that are backed by proven, scientific results. We specialize in custom, small-batch development to meet your needs.
We developed an innovative elixir named Dermalastyl™ that you can private label as your own. We can also customize Dermalastyl™ to create a formula that’s unique to your establishment. Dermalastyl™ includes the dynamic properties of our proprietary Elastatropin® (tropoelastin) formulation, which is the body’s natural precursor to elastin, the elastic proteins that keep skin tight and youthful.
Our Story
Skinventive was formed by three scientists, each holding a Ph.D. in their respective fields, who are dedicated to bringing advanced science into cosmetic products to deliver real results.
While working to produce cosmetic products using their own advanced, patented protein technologies, our founders frequently connected with dermatologists, nurse practitioners, and estheticians who were very interested in their proprietary protein technologies. However, the same clinics and medspa were unable to find a manufacturing and formulation partner willing to manufacture the small quantity of products relevant to their needs.
This is because medspas or clinics often look for 100-500 units of cosmetic products per year, whereas many existing Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) have minimum manufacturing quantities of 3,000 – 5,000 units.
Skinventive was established to address this need and to help clinics and medspas design unique cosmetic products. Today, our hands-on manufacturing and formulation approach allows for small-batch and couture product offerings. We are never too big or too busy to work with the little guy.
We offer white-label manufacturing capabilities ranging from 10 to 10,000 units and our custom formulation manufacturing capabilities range from 100 to 10,000 units.
If you can envision it, we can help you create it.
Meet Our Team
Robert Kellar, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Robert Kellar is an Associate Professor at Northern Arizona University in the Center for Materials Interfaces in Research Applications (¡MIRA!), Biological Sciences, and Mechanical Engineering. He serves as the Chief Science Officer for Axolotl Biologix and has over 21 years of experience in the development and regulatory approval of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biologics, including cell-based products and regenerative medicine and tissue engineered technology. He has 151 scientific abstracts, 42 peer-reviewed publications, and 6 issued US patents. He received his PhD from the University of Arizona in 2001.
Dr. Kellar currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) for Leonhardt Ventures and the Clinical Advisory Board for Aesthetics Biomedical. He serves as an Advisory Board Member for Protein Genomics, a protein polymer medical device company, and the California Stock Exchange. Dr. Kellar has helped to co-found a number of companies including Development Engineering Sciences, a biomedical consulting firm, Flagship Biosciences, a digital pathology company, and Elevated Manufacturing, a contract manufacturer.
Bronson I. Pinto, Ph.D.
Chief Science Officer
Dr. Pinto earned his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Northern Arizona University in the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory of Dr. Robert S. Kellar. His academic research focused on wound healing, environmental toxicology, and the development of bioengineered wound healing constructs for the treatment of chronic wounds. His work was funded by multiple NIH grants that focused on underrepresented minorities, environmental toxicology, and wound healing. Dr. Pinto holds an adjunct faculty position at Coconino Community College where he teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology and Introduction to Biology.
Dr. Pinto is Co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Amnyo, LLC, a regenerative biologics company, and co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Skinventive, a cosmetic manufacturer. Prior to starting his two companies, Dr. Pinto worked as an independent contractor for Development Engineering Sciences in Flagstaff, Arizona. He worked on various projects involving cell culture, endovascular stent and graft technology, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, quantitative polymerase chain reaction, topical skin formulation, platelet-rich plasma creation, and integumentary wound healing device prototyping and optimization. After his time at Development Engineering Sciences, Dr. Pinto began working as a Research and Development Scientist for Axolotl Biologix in Phoenix, Arizona. He contributed to the development and commercialization of birth tissue-derived regenerative products used to treat chronic wounds and joint degeneration.
Dr. William Merritt, Ph. D
Chief Operating Officer, Skinventive
Dr. Merritt completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and his doctorate degree in Bioengineering from Northern Arizona University (NAU). His academic research focused on investigating a novel polymer construct for use as a liquid embolic in the treatment of cerebral aneurysms, which was then spun out into a medical device company. He also holds an adjunct faculty position at Northern Arizona University where he collaborates on medical device research and helps mentor the undergraduate and graduate students in NAU’s Bioengineering Devices Laboratory to prepare them for careers in engineering, biology, and medicine.
Dr. Merritt has served in a number of executive roles in both the medical device and regenerative medicine industries and brings more than 6 years of entrepreneurial, R&D, product design, operations, quality management, and commercialization expertise to his role as the Chief Operating Officer of Skinventive. Dr. Merritt has previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of BioFlow Systems LLC, the Chief Operating Officer of Elevated Manufacturing, LLC, Vice President of Operations for International Stem Cell Medical Center, and VP of Research and Development for Aneuvas Technologies, Inc.
